The Borough of Geistown Police Department is lead by Chief Ed Porada,
who signed a 3 year contract November 13, 2024. Porada has 27 years of policing experience, starting his public service at age 14 as a junior firefighter. He was a deputy fire marshal, a member of Richland Township Fire Department’s arson K-9 program, a police sergeant and K-9 officer with Paint Township Police Department, a Somerset County deputy sheriff, and a special agent with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. He has also worked part-time for Geistown, Somerset and West Hills Regional police departments.
As Geistown's police chief, Porada leads 11 part-time officers and emphasizes community policing.
